Following the NIHL North section meeting on Sunday 14th May, the EIHA announced the format for the 17/18 season.
The Dragons heroic efforts of last season have been rewarded.  The team will take their rightful place in the second tier of British Hockey, North Division 1.  The quality of the league will be immense with 3 former EPL Teams now coming in to the league.

NIHL North Section Meeting Outcome

Following the NIHL North section meeting on Sunday 14 May, the EIHA is pleased to announce that the format for 17/18 season has been agreed.

The applications from Hull Pirates, Sheffield Steeldogs and Telford were accepted and they take their place in NIHL North Division 1 next season.

Deeside Dragons preserved their NIHL North Moralee D1 status after securing a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory over Widnes Wild on Sunday.
Scott McKenzie’s team went into the game at Blackburn Ice Arena on the back of an impressive 8-6 win against Blackburn Hawks the previous day, but they were pushed hard by their D2 opponents.

With three goals and one assist Dragons coach Scott Mckenzie took the team one step nearer division one safety on Saturday night at Blackburn arena.
In a thrilling fourteen goal match in which the Dragons came out on top 8-6 took book a place in the relegation\promotion playoff game against Widnes Wild on Sunday night.
McKenzie also finished top scorer in the Moralee division with 53points
