An excellent first trials night for The Dragons saw over 30 players in attendance, including 5 netminders, all interested in securing a place with the team. ‘Larry’ Takes A Break From Hockey

Submitted by on 09/08/2017 – 11:08 am

The Dragons Ice Hockey Club always want to make sure our valued supporters are kept updated with the ongoings within the club. Therefore we want to announce that Marc ‘Larry’ Lovell is taking a break from The Dragons and Ice Hockey for the foreseeable future. The Dragons Organisation want to thank Larry for being open and honest with us and we support what must have been a very tough decision to make. As a hockey player that has a wife, a young family and a full time job, there comes a time where you have to make the tough decision to step away.

We have given Larry the option to take a break and let us know how he feels in the not too distant future. As a club we fully support Larry and his family through their decision making and we hope that Dragons fans get to see the famous #91 on the ice later on this season. Larry, however, will take to the ice on Saturday for the Claire House Charity Game at Deeside Leisure Centre. Face off is 415pm, adults £5, kids £3.

We spoke to Marc earlier today and this is what he had to say about his decision

“I would like to thank all the supporters for their support over the years. It was a hard decision to make but I’m grateful to Scott and the club and that they have supported my decision and left the door open for me if I decide to play again. Ive enjoyed playing at Deeside over the years and hopefully will play again in the near future”.
