Eagle Flies Into The Den

Submitted by on 06/07/2017 – 5:58 pm

The Dragons are delighted to announce the arrival of defenceman Craig Lutkevitch from the Blackburn Eagles. Lutkevitch joins the Dragons on the back of winning the NIHL2 Moralee conference with the Eagles and is known for his no nonsense style of play. An aggressive defenceman that plays with a physical edge and makes it difficult for his opponents to play the game. Coach Mckenzie is delighted to bring Lutkevitch to Deeside; “When I knew that Craig was interested in joining the Dragons I jumped at the chance to get him here. He is someone that personally I didn’t enjoy playing against, so it’s great to have him on our team this season.Craig is very keen to pull on a Dragons jersey and will be a great team mate. Sometimes bringing new players in can be a challenge but I’m very confident that Craig will fit in with our group perfectly.”
Lutkevitch, 25, has spent all of his senior career with Blackburn Eagles and Blackburn Hawk’s. Throughout that time he has played 126 games, scoring 18 goals and 48 assists also having just 66 penalty in minutes.

We spoke to Craig earlier in the week and he had this to say about joining the Dragons

“It’s an exciting new start for me signing with the Dragons and I can’t wait to get going with the team. After the Eagles won the league last year and then sadly folding, I was eager to try and play in Div 1 and thankfully Scott has given me that opportunity to do so.  It’s going to be a very tough league this year with the EPL teams merging with the NIHL and I think the Dragons will only grow with being in this league, Scott has worked hard in the time he has been there and I am excited to now be apart of it. Personally I am ready for the challenge of stepping up a league and progressing as a player with the Dragons.”

Lutkevitch will wear the #2 jersey for The Dragons during the 2017/18 Moralee Conference. You can Own & Loan his jersey by contacting the Dragons marketing team at…
