Dragons Secure McKenzies Future

As the dust settles on the Dragons “Great Escape” The club management are glad to announce that a new contract has been agreed with player coach Scott McKenzie.

Before the team’s heroics on the final weekend of the season the club had agreed terms with the leagues top points scorer and both parties will put pen to paper this week.

The coach had this to say about his future at the Dragons:

This season has been somewhat turbulent but we feel that we have made some real positive changes within the dynamics of the Dragons Organisation. We have a brand new supporters club, a great off ice staff and now it is about building on the terrific season we have just had. There will be a few changes within the structure of the league this summer but it shouldn’t affect the building process for us personally. We have earned our right to compete in the Moralee Conference and we will build a team that is able to compete in that league. I am excited to be staying in the Dragons colours and look forward to seeing what the future holds for our great club.
We
would also like to thanks the supporters who have been fantastic this season in every way possible in supporting the team from sponsoring players shirts to buying raffle tickets etc ,without you guys we would not have a team so thanks once again for your fantastic support”

A club spokesman said :
It is vital to our long term plans for the growth of the club to get some stability in the locker room and continue to strengthen our links with the juniors. We have a common vision for the Dragons and there is a real buzz around the Den.

The Dragons will be making regular press releases every week throughout the summer on our social media pages to keep our loyal fans up to date with any new signing or team news so stay tuned
