Dragons 8 Warriors 2

“Dragons chase The Warriors out of town”
Dark storm clouds had gathered above the Den after a bruising weekend on the road. Zero points to show for the efforts in Sutton & Billingham, coach McKenzie had a tall task on his hands to raise the Dragons from the foot of the table. The daunting thought of the Warriors in town created a nervous tension in the air. With another large crowd in attendance they were shortly silenced after Richards lit the lamp from in front of the Dragons net to put the Warriors 1 up.
The Dragons needed character and look no further than Coach McKenzie who grabbed a brace with 12 minutes on the clock to make the score 2-1. Dragons down a man on the power play some how sprung into attack with Filip Supa slotting the third. Followed by James Parsons 1st of the night putting The Den into dream land.
End of the 1st Dragons lead 4-1.
Second period brought a goal each, Jordan Barnes on 29 mins pulling it back to 4-2. The three goal advantaged was restored 2 mins later
with a top shelf effort from Andrew Chappell to make it 5-3 Dragons.
Third period and the Dragons stepped up,a gear again, Wigglesworth fast counter attack one on one showed nerves of steel lit the lamp again to make it 6-3.
The Warriors looked beat Jonah Armstrong was seeing everything they threw at him.
MVP James Parsons bagged a brace to conclude the scoring giving The Dragons a 8-2 win.
A mid ice clash with young Louis Morgan and Veteran Andre Payette brought the premature end of the game with Morgan needing emergency treatment which some what soured the night.
With two more games left and maximum points needed. Part one of the great escape had successfully completed with season best performance.
